Voice Search For Google Maps Goes Live

Voice search is now available in Google Map App. Right now it is easier for users to search locations and directions. What you need to do is just click the microphone icon that now appears in the Google Maps and get busy talking.

There is no doubt, that voice search is faster and easier than traditional methods like typing. I have tested with multiple voice searches and noticed speech recognition has a 95% accuracy rate.

If you want to search for directions from a Place X to Place Y, Just go to Google Maps and simply say “Place X to Place Y!

It takes a few seconds (less than 3 sec) to recognize the voice and show the results.

How it works is – Google speech services convert audio to text and share the text with the Google App.
